This lakefront home is located over in the Metcalf Bay area of Big Bear Lake. You won’t find Tavern on many street maps (there’s only 4 or 5 homes on this street). The street is not plowed or maintained during the winter but there are several vacation homes on the street, so there’s a possibility it might get plowed by the vacation rental companies. I see this as a pretty big negative to the property, unless you’re planning on just using it during the Summer time.

The best part about this property is the back yard and boat dock. It’s flat and has grass which gives children enough room to roam around and play, or for adults to barbeque and enjoy the lake views. When it was advertised, the first picture you saw was the boat dock, which if you think about it, is where all the value is. The house wasn’t anything special but at $499,000 it’s an inexpensive way to get on the lake…..it was built in 1967 and has three small bedrooms (2 upstairs and 1 down), only 960 square feet, but it does have laundry facilities (in the master closet), and a carport to the right of house. This was on the market for 246 days. The seller took the property off the market, and while it wasn’t in our MLS, he received an offer. This doesn’t happen that often, but in this case there wasn’t too much available under $500,000 so it worked out for both parties. There wasn’t too much negotiating…the buyer paid full price.
