Weather Update for Big Bear Lake, California

Going to Work

According to BigBearWeather.com, our current storm remains in effect through midnight tonight, with snow levels reaching 4000 feet.  The total snow accumulation should be somewhere between 1-2′!

Ben Brissey, who tracks weather for our local area, made an excellent chart showing the snow depth one can expect throughout the year.  It accounts for 45 years of data (1960-2005), and indicates that February is the month when Big Bear gets the most snow.

Chart from Big Bear Weather

We’ve seen 88″ of snow so far this Winter which means the lake level should be full in another couple months.  If we’re only 6′ from being full now, I would expect it to be looking great by Summertime!
